It can be difficult to predict exactly how long therapy will last, as each person’s journey is unique. The length of treatment depends on several factors, including your goals, the concerns you are working through, your level of engagement, readiness for change, support outside of sessions, and the frequency of appointments.
Some people benefit from short-term counseling focused on a specific goal or life transition, while others choose longer-term support as they continue to grow and navigate new challenges. Therapy can adapt over time based on your changing needs and priorities.
Throughout the process, we will regularly check in about your progress, what is working well, and whether adjustments are needed to ensure therapy continues to support your goals.
Many people come to therapy after having experiences that didn’t meet their needs. I believe counseling starts with a strong, trusting relationship where you feel understood, respected, and accepted for who you are.
Research consistently shows that the connection between the client and therapist is one of the most important parts of successful therapy. My goal is to create a collaborative space where we work together to understand your goals, identify what has or hasn’t worked in the past, and develop strategies that fit your unique strengths, needs, and experiences.
Counseling is not a one-size-fits-all process. I take time to understand what you hope to gain from therapy and partner with you to create meaningful, practical change.
You enjoy being outdoors. You tend to have extra energy during sessions that's hard to sit with. Direct eye contact or staying still feels uncomfortable. You feel more at ease talking side-by-side than face-to-face.
Often times clients like to bring a support person to their first session to ease anxiety and help with sharing needs and setting goals. We welcome these guests.
Counseling sessions can be scheduled Mondays-Thursdays 9am-5pm. Late afternoon hours are more popular, so it might be likely that mornings or midday will be open at first, with the possibility to move to later slots after counseling has started.
Counseling is confidential and I will not talk to anyone about what we talk about in sessions unless you ask me to. This is enforced through both professional ethics and state law. However, there are a few limits to professional confidentiality, including the following situations:
• Suspicion that a child, dependent adult or elder is being neglected or abused.
• Threatening yourself or others with serious bodily harm.
• Specific court orders to testify.
In the event that I must break confidentiality; I will discuss it with you in a timely manner, preferably, but not necessarily, prior to breaking confidence.
Maybe... I do not directly accept health insurance. All services are out-of-pocket. However, you may check with your insurance company to see if they reimburse for out-of-network providers. Upon request, I will provide a "super bill" that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.
You can easily make payments and keep track of your billing history on the Client Portal. Visit the Simple Practice Help Center for more information on paying your bills through the Client Portal.
When your clinician sends you a new secure message or a document to review you’ll receive an email containing a Client Portal sign-in link. This one-time link expires after 24 hours. If a link has expired, you can request a new sign-in link or use Google Sign In. You can also access your Client Portal directly through the Client Portal mobile app (for Android or iOS). If you’re having trouble signing in, contact your practitioner or visit our Help Center.
Unfortunately, we do not offer ESA (Emotional Support Animal) Letters at this time. If you are interested in securing an ESA letter, please reach out to your Primary Care Physician.
